Inkosi

£0.00
Sold

Lion

Charcoal, soft pastels and pastel pencil

Original Artwork (50cm x 70cm)

Naming my artwork is very important to me and I knew from the outset that he needed an African title. I spent hours researching African names and words before discovering the perfect one. ‘Inkosi’ means Chief or King in Zulu and Xhosa, and I think it suits his personality down to the ground. To me, he represents authoritative qualities of a leader; he is strong and powerful yet wise and gracious.

Inkosi is more than just a drawing on a piece of paper to me. I’ve spent hours and hours crafting and bringing him to life and my belief and faith in him as he emerged has helped me get through some tough times.

This artwork is available as a greetings card. Please click here for further details.
