'Imani' means 'faith' in Swahili. This felt like such an appropriate name for how I was feeling when I was creating her as I had to hold so much faith … faith in myself, faith in my abilities, faith in my artwork.
Being an artist is one thing. Being a self-employed business entrepreneur is an entirely different thing. Everyone has access to faith and I want this piece to symbolise the strength in believing that things in life are possible.
